The CHS Athletic Department named Brooklyn James and Cole Turner Athletes of the Year this morning at the Senior Awards Assembly (June 7, 2018).
Brooklyn–was a 2-sport athlete her senior year (Cross Country and Track & Field). She finished 1st in the 400 meters at State, 6th in the 800 meters at State, 3rd in the 4×100 meter relay, and 4th in the 4×400 meter relay. She scored 15.75 points for the team at state out of the 40 we scored. She broke numerous records along the way this track season. She was 1st team All-Conference and All-State in Track & Field. She 1st team All-Conference in Cross Country. She will be attending the University of Utah this next fall playing soccer and running track. Congratulations to Brooklyn.
Cole–was a 2-sport athlete his senior year (Football and Basketball). He was a 3-year starter in basketball and football at the varsity level. He was team captain his senior year. Cole was 1st team All-State and All-Conference in Football. He was 1st Team All-Conference in Basketball and also Honorable Mention All-State in Basketball. He was chosen to play in the Les Schwab Bowl as well. He will be attending the University of Nevada and will be leaving next week to begin his collegiate football career.
