Cameron Mitchell enters his first season as Head Coach of the Clackamas High Boys Basketball program after spending the past two years at the collegiate level. Most recently, as an Assistant Coach at Whitworth University, Mitchell helped the team to a 23-5 record and a 11th straight NCAA tournament appearance. During the 2015-2016 season Coach Mitchell assisted head coach Justin Labagh at City College of San Francisco in all aspects of recruiting, scouting and player development. CCSF finished the season with a 32-1 record and a California Community College state championship.
Prior to coaching at CCSF, Mitchell coached at The Head-Royce School in Oakland from 2012 to 2014 where he served as the JV Boys Basketball Coach.
Mitchell played at Willamette University from 2007-2010 and was named 1st team All-Northwest Conference twice (09’, 10’) and 1st team All-West Region in 2010. Mitchell was also named one of ten finalists for the Jostens Trophy, which recognizes the National player of the year in Division 3. After his career at Willamette Mitchell played professionally in Ireland, Chile, and Australia, where he was named league MVP in 2011.
Mitchell earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Willamette University in 2010 and holds a Master’s in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco.
